Every artist has a subject that she is fond of painting and that ignites a passion to paint. Because of a death of a beloved pet goldfish, I found koi and pondscapes that subject for 2013-2015.

 

Koi are gentle, beautiful and graceful; most outlive their humans. Koi come in various colors, vibrant and alive, looking like jewels of the pond.

 

Their fluid movement under the surface of the water lend themselves so well to the painted canvas.
